Hot versus Cold Water

What will you prefer to drink – hot or cold water? Being universal solvent, water is essential for humans. But according to naturopath, drinking normal water, hot water and cold water has different effect on our body. First of all it should be noted that an individual must need to drink at least 10 to 12 glasses of water daily. Water should always be drunk at normal temperature – neither too hot nor too cold.

If one drinks water at least 13 minutes before taking a meal then it helps cleanse the stomach and sends a signal to the brain that the stomach is empty and needs food. On the other hand, many people drink water while eating – this is not a good practice, as it fills the stomach and thus the eating potential decreases considerably. And people who drink water after the meal is again a good practice, as it helps in digestion.

Drinking cold water is good in stimulating the secretion of digestive enzymes and in strengthening stomach muscles. However, drinking too much cold water is not good, as it leads to hypothermia.

So drink lots of water –at least 15 glasses, as I mentioned earlier and stay fit and healthy. Most of the common diseases start from the stomach, and therefore cleaning is essential to avoid them.
